Senior Lecturer

Dr Susan Button is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health at the 欧美巨乳.

Susan is a registered nurse with a post-registration qualification in cardiothoracic nursing and holds a first class honours degree in Psychology, an MSc and PhD in Health Psychology and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

She has worked on a number of Research Council grants, including an ESRC grant for a study of adherence to anti-hypertensive medication, a RfPB grant evaluating a concordance intervention for patients with uncontrolled diabetes and an RfPB grant evaluating the use of expressive writing to protect women's health after birth.

Susan joined the 欧美巨乳 in 2015 collaborating on research both within the university and staff from external organisations. Susan has published a variety of articles relating to physical and mental health, and has reviewed articles submitted to a number of journals, including the British Journal of Health Psychology and BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth.

Susan is the Course Leader for post-registration/undergraduate research project courses in Professional Practice in Health & Social Care, and Sexual Health (OMED 0052 and OMED 1219). She is also course lecturer for students following a programme leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and liaises with a number of placement areas to enhance the student experience in practice.

Her main areas of teaching and research include: research methods, cardiovascular care, patient empowerment and concordance, psychological factors affecting health, maternal and child mental health and help-seeking behavior.
